Round about the time at the end of the year 2004, Wyne Su Khine Thein started shooting the VCD for Saung Oo Hlaing, which was called “In Everyone’s Hearts”. She also made some straight-to-video movies. And therefore, the closing of 2004 marked her entry into the entertainment industry. Now, in 2015, she has been working steadily for eleven years.
Singing has been an avid interest of hers since she was a child. Since she was very young, she had already made plans to become a singer. Back then, every day after coming back from school, she would practice singing. However, it was with acting that she got her start in the entertainment business. She eventually became a singer due to her passion for music. But the funny thing was that even though she began her career with acting, she had never made any plans to be an actress before. It just happened.
She considers all the directors who trained her in the methods that enabled her to make her entry into the Art world as her first ever teachers. Also, she recalls that all the co-stars (whom she considers as brothers and sisters) she worked together with also coached her during filming. She especially fondly remembers Director Ko Wine. In the beginning of her career, she used to make a lot of VCDs. And Ko Wine tends to make VCDs in the style of short movies. Therefore in the process of working together, he taught her a lot of things.
Her first footstep into the world of Art was the afore-mentioned VCD of Saung Oo Hlaing. After getting her start with this VCD, she went on to make movies. Only after that did she turn her direction to singing.
But did she experience any difficulties during her stint in the acting world? Well, she did not really encounter any big problems that she could point out. Of course, now and then, there were naturally a few small obstacles that she had to overcome, but there were not any big issues to speak of.
She has been very close with Saung Oo Hlaing since the time when she was just starting out. And she had wanted to sing from the very beginning itself. So, during the shooting of the VCD with Ko Saung Oo, she stressed to him that she wanted to sing in it. For that reason, he gave her some voice training lessons. But back at that time, she had not even finished her tenth grade in school. Therefore, her voice had not quite settled yet. Ko Saung Oo consequently advised her not to start singing when her voice had not yet settled. He decided it was better for her to start out by acting in the VCD.
After some time had passed, Ko Saung Oo approached her again, this time for a song called “About A Girl.” He had plans to include it in an album he was compiling. So he suggested that she tried her singing voice again with this song, and if the producers liked it, he would put the song into the recording. Trying it out, Wyne Su discovered that this song was perfectly matched with her voice, and the producers also loved it. Therefore, as promised, the song ended up being recorded and put on the album. And this was how she got her start in the singing profession.
As for music, her earliest works were featured in multiple-artist albums. Looking back at every one of those albums, including the Thingyan specials, she could count about 10 or 12 of her songs altogether among the mixture. After that phase, came the time for a solo artist career, and from then up to now, she has been putting out solo albums. Other than that, she also releases live show albums. All in all, she thinks there are about over twenty albums of her works out there.
For every singer, releasing a solo album seems to be the ultimate goal. Therefore, her first ever solo album, named “Desirable”, became her first achievement towards the goal. She worked extremely hard to make sure the album “Desirable” get released.
In the song named “A Matching Life”, she got a chance to collaborate with R Zarni, which was a long-time dream of hers. From the time the recording of the album started, she planned to sing a song with him. It finally happened only on the last song of the album. After talking with R Zarni, she assigned songwriter R Khine with the task of writing the song. Seeing as up to that point, her unfinished album had not a single love song in it, she requested him to make it a love song that would match the styles of both R Zarni and herself. And so, R Khine came up with the song that later became a favorite among the audience. The tune and the lyrics were both catchy and easy to sing along.
